Riggs has always longed to share his life with a loving family, wishing to give them all the love he saved in his heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the pup\u2019s life was filled with disappointments and heartbreaks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Riggs was abandoned for the third time, he curled up on the floor of his shelter kennel with a sorrowful expression on his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seven-year-old doggo stopped believing that he would ever find his happily ever after. He started accepting the fact that he would spend his life at the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a Saturday night, a kind-hearted woman named April felt an urge to visit an animal shelter although she didn\u2019t plan to add another furry member to her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She already had three cats and a dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the good human listened to her heart and went to the shelter the next day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon her arrival at the shelter, April saw the first canine: a heartbroken senior dog named Riggs lying in his kennel. He seemed to have given up on himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deeply affected by his sorrow, April burst into tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I first saw him I got down on my knees crying because I had never seen a dog look so sad. It broke my heart and I instantly felt a connection with him,\u201d<\/em> April told Newsweek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Riggs stole her heart and she decided right away that she would take him to her home in Goodyear, Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, the pup was found roaming the streets and he was admitted to Maricopa County Animal Control West<\/a> in Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the canine had a microchip, the staff contacted his owner but he didn\u2019t want him back. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riggs had no other choice but to remain at the shelter, hoping that someone would give him the home he always wanted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, instead of getting his happy ending, Riggs had his heart broken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adorable pup had been adopted three times, but each time, he was returned back to the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pup\u2019s Greatest Dream Finally Comes True<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

April found him when he most needed her love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the giant-hearted woman and her family weren\u2019t looking for a new pet, <\/strong>they decided to give Riggs a forever home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April introduced Riggs to her family and filled out the adoption paperwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, the doggo didn\u2019t have to stay at the shelter any longer because his new mom could take him home the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moment Riggs realized that he was coming home with April and her family, his face lit up. He started wagging his tail with excitement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After realizing that he got another chance at happiness, the pooch couldn\u2019t stop smiling.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His family adores Riggs and they can\u2019t understand why he ended up at the shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe is a good boy and I cannot figure out why someone would abandon him. He is so good with our kids (although we remain cautious of course), our other dog adores him and he is so happy and relaxed now,\u201d<\/em> April added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riggs has settled perfectly into his home. The doggo is pure love, and he uses every opportunity to cuddle with his humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
