Some people are sent to the right place at the right time for a reason, and Eddy would definitely agree if he could speak!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, all he can do is give a heartwarming look and wag his tail in an affirmative manner, but that\u2019s probably enough to confirm his story! This poor little pup was struggling to stay afloat in a drainage ditch, often referred to as a bayou in Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was holding tight to a clump of reeds and shivering until a kind passerby finally noticed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eddy hadn\u2019t had it easy. No one knew how this stray Shih Tzu ended up in the bayou in the first place, but he definitely couldn\u2019t find a way out on his own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, he was holding onto the reeds he found in the middle of moving water, hoping this nightmare would end soon. Eddy was shivering in the cold water<\/strong>. He had no one to help him and was near drowning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, a hero woman spotted him<\/strong> and immediately rushed into action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA rain storm was coming and the ditch soon filled with fast moving water. Velvin Alvarado saw where he was and rescued the little guy from the water. He was very scared and traumatized,\u201d<\/em> Erin, Eddy\u2019s first foster, wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

She waded into the water without thinking and, minutes later, took Eddy out. After finally bringing him to safety, Velvin started looking for help via her social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually, this scared pup found refuge with the CAMO Rescue<\/a> team in Houston, Texas. He spent the first few days with Erin and her family, who later transferred him to another foster home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the beginning, Eddy was quite reserved toward everyone due to his trauma from the past. He growled and hid from people<\/strong> until he finally realized that he was safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weeks later, he slowly came out of his shell and started to trust his caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eddy gradually acclimated to his new environment<\/strong>, embracing a new life that he had been desperately searching for this whole time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eddy is definitely a keeper \u2013 all he needs is to find owners who will understand him and provide him with all the love he needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is perfect for a family of adults<\/strong> where he won\u2019t feel intimidated. And yes, he\u2019s definitely a social butterfly, meaning Eddy would make a great addition on walkies!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe has been around older kids and loves them. He is crate trained, and goes outside eagerly,\u201d the <\/em>CAMO rescue stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Eddy loves to eat is scrambled eggs and a veggie mix \u2013 combined with kibble. After his meals, he loves to socialize with other pups<\/strong> and cuddle with his people, which makes him a full package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe is not fond of kibble, but mixed with scrambled eggs or a meat\/rice\/vegetable mix he eats well. He was very thin when we got him. He gets along with other dogs. He is ready for a forever home. He just loves to lie close by,  and to be loved,\u201d<\/em> the Texas rescue concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, he will be treated for several issues, including a urinary tract infection, bacteria, and worms in his stool. After his neutering surgery, Eddy will be fully ready to meet his new hoomans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
