Candace is officially a first-time grandmother after Lev and Elliott welcomed their baby on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The couple kept the deeply personal news private until Sunday, September 27.

In an Instagram post, Elliott finally shared the first glimpse of their newborn — and revealed what the family had endured during the weeks between his arrival and his introduction to the world.

Their first child is a boy. And the couple chose a name for their son that immediately stood out among the flood of congratulations: Bond Leo Bure.

Elliott opened her announcement with “Welcome baby boy!!!!” before revealing Bond’s full name and his August 4 birth date. But behind the joyous introduction was a frightening reason the family had spent more than a month in the hospital.

Bond arrived 10 weeks premature and weighed exactly three pounds at birth. The tiny newborn was immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit.

After five weeks and five days in the NICU, Lev and Elliott finally reached the moment they had been waiting and praying for: They were able to take their baby boy home.

Elliott described an emotional ordeal filled with “lots of tears, countless prayers,” and long hours at the hospital. Announcing that Bond was finally home, she called him their “miracle boy.”

The new mom also thanked the nurses and doctors who had cared for her son, along with the couple’s community for standing behind them through the terrifying experience.

She ended her emotional message by thanking Jesus for “every answered prayer” and declaring that the family was “blessed beyond measure.”

Candace Celebrates Her ‘Miracle’ Grandson

Bond’s arrival also officially made Candace a grandmother for the first time — a milestone the actress had eagerly anticipated. She poured out her emotions in the comments beneath Elliott’s post.

“Bond Leo is a miracle baby 😭🙌🏼🙏🏻❤️ Our hearts could not be more full of love. You and Lev are the most amazing parents – and we are here for every minute of it 🙌🏼❤️ We love you all sooooooo much 💙🩵💙,” she wrote.

Bond’s arrival adds another generation to the Bure family. Candace married former NHL player Val Bure in 1996, and the couple raised three children: Natasha, Lev, and Maksim.

The family’s newest addition also received an enthusiastic welcome from his aunt Natasha Bure Perry, who was expecting a child of her own with husband Bradley Steven Perry.

“Perfect boy!!!! My heart 😭🧸🫶🏼 We love Bond,” Natasha commented. Bradley kept his own reaction short and sweet, writing, “Perfect little guy!!!!!”

Fans Can’t Get Enough of Bond’s Unusual Name

Beyond the emotional news that Lev and Elliott had become parents, Bond Leo Bure’s unusual name quickly became a talking point among people responding to the announcement.

One commenter praised the distinctive choice, writing, “Bond beautiful rare unique name.” Another was equally charmed: “bond is such a cute name 🥹 congratulations!!”

One person connected the powerful-sounding name with the little boy’s long-awaited arrival home after his extended stay in the NICU. “Welcome to the world Bond Leo – and welcome home; strong name, strong boy💙🫶,” the commenter wrote.

Another follower celebrated both the birth and his full name: “Congratulations on Baby Bond…God’s miracle boy and a bundle of joy!!! What a beautiful name: Bond Leo Bure! So happy for all…Congratulations!🩵🪁🧢🚙💙”

A fifth simply wrote, “What a cute name!” The reactions followed an extraordinary few months for the Bure family, during which Candace discovered that not one, but two of her children were preparing to become parents.

Two Pregnancy Announcements Arrived Just Weeks Apart

Natasha and Bradley were the first to reveal their baby news. On Thursday, May 7, the couple announced in a joint Instagram post that they were expecting their first child.

The sweet pictures showed the pair wearing matching blue-and-white striped button-down shirts while drinking from mugs marked “Dada!” and “Mama!” Natasha left her shirt unbuttoned to reveal her growing baby bump.

“Our dream role 🐣,” the couple captioned the announcement. Then, just three weeks later, Lev and Elliott revealed that they had major news of their own.

The couple announced their first pregnancy in another Instagram post, posing together as they proudly held a sonogram. “baby bure coming soon !!!!!” Elliott wrote.

At the time, Bond’s premature August arrival was still ahead. His eventual birth meant Lev became a father — and Candace became a grandmother — before Natasha welcomed her own first child.

Candace Had Already Chosen Her Grandmother Name

Candace had been eagerly talking about becoming a grandmother long before either baby arrived. When Natasha announced her pregnancy in May, Candace told People that she was “overwhelmed with joy” over the major family milestone.

She also revealed the grandmother name she had been hoping to claim for some time: Candy Gram. The playful nickname was far from a last-minute idea. On her podcast in late 2025, Candace admitted her children had already heard — and firmly rejected — her suggestion.

“You know what I want… but my kids have veto’d? … They are like, ‘That’s so dumb, mom.’ I want CandyGram. My name’s Candy, and I’m a grandma — I’m CandyGram!” she said in a clip shared on Facebook.

Months later, as Natasha prepared for motherhood, Candace was still proudly using the name. She told People that becoming a grandmother was something she had dreamed about and described watching Natasha step into motherhood as one of the greatest gifts she had received.

Candace said she was celebrating “answered prayer” as she prepared to become a “Candy Gram,” adding that she wanted time to cherish the family’s new season.

“Our family is so full of love, and we can’t wait to welcome this precious little one — who already has the most wonderful parents,” she said at the time.

The Family Was Already Preparing for Its Next Generation

Natasha and Bradley had spoken openly about their hopes of having children even before announcing the pregnancy. They married in September 2025 during what was described as a romantic garden celebration at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, surrounded by 150 guests.

At the time, Bradley said that when he looked at Natasha, he saw “the future mother of my children.” He described her as sweet and protective of the people around her and said he believed she would be an incredible mother.

Natasha was equally open about her dream of eventually building a family with Bradley. “I personally can’t wait to have little Bradleys running around … Starting a life together is going to be the most incredible journey that I can’t wait to embark on. He’s just my person,” she said.

Their May announcement confirmed that the newlyweds had begun that next chapter. Then Lev and Elliott announced their pregnancy three weeks later, setting the stage for another huge Bure family milestone — one that would ultimately arrive far sooner than anyone expected.

From an Empty Nest to a Rapidly Growing Family

Becoming a grandmother marks a dramatic change from the stage of family life Candace was describing only two years earlier. In 2024, she opened up to Today about the difficult adjustment after her children grew up and she and Val became empty nesters.

“It’s sad when you have a hustling, bustling home and there are always voices and activity going on, to it being quiet,” she said. “It can feel sad and lonely.”

Candace explained that she and Val used the quieter period to spend more time together and reconsider what their marriage would look like without their children living under the same roof.

“A decision you make when the kids are gone is, ‘Are you going to relearn your spouse and be interested in the things that they’re interested in or try doing new things together?'” she said.
